Last Friday, the Alte Kaserne youth culture center in Landshut was buzzing with energy as it hosted the second edition of the Youth Festival 2.0. Organised by the Youth Council, elected in November 2024, and Municipal Youth Work, the event was a continuation of the successful premiere.

The festival provided a platform for young talent, with DJ SixX P from Dingolfing providing the musical accompaniment for the day. The young duo "Scarlet & Sin" also took centre stage, entertaining the crowd with their captivating performance.

Artist Max Schalk, alias mr.mesc, led a graffiti action where young people could create on canvases, showcasing their artistic skills. Visitors at the festival also had the opportunity to design sports bags, receive henna tattoos, and have their braids woven, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

The success of the youth festival was acknowledged by the second mayor, Dr. Thomas Haslinger, who inspected the offers and engaged in conversation with the visitors. The festival served as an opportunity for the youth council to establish further contacts with the young people of Landshut and collect ideas for the future.

The festival was well-supported by various providers of Landshut's youth work, including employees of the Poschinger Villa youth center, Mobile Youth Work, the Checkpoint youth club, and volunteer helpers. The Educational Youth Protection also provided alcohol-free cocktails and catering at the festival.

The festival's second chairman, Dr. Hümeyra Gültekin, expressed her satisfaction with the event, stating, "We are thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm of the young people. The festival is a testament to the power of youth engagement and creativity."

With the festival's success, plans for the next edition in 2026 are already underway. The offer at the next Youth Festival 2.0 is planned to be expanded, promising an even more exciting event for Landshut's young population. The festival is not just a one-time event but a commitment to fostering youth engagement and creativity in the city.
