New Ather 450 Series Unveiled with Improved Efficiency and Traction Control System

Ather Energy, the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled the 2025 Ather 450 series. The new line-up includes the 450S and 450X models, both of which come with several updates aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency.

The base model of the 2025 Ather 450S is priced at ₹1.30 lakh, while the top-spec Ather 450 Apex costs ₹2 lakh. The 2025 Ather 450X series retails at ₹1.47 lakh for the 2.9 kWh variant and ₹1.76 lakh for the 3.7 kWh variant.

One of the key updates to the 2025 Ather 450 series is the inclusion of a Traction Control System (TCS). This system is available in three modes: Mode 1 (Sport), Mode 2 (Ride), and Mode 3 (Eco). The TCS is designed to improve stability and control during acceleration, especially in adverse weather conditions.

Another significant update is the introduction of a new MRF Zapper N e-tred tyre on the Ather 450X. This tyre is claimed to improve efficiency by 14%. As a result, the range of the 2025 Ather 450X 3.7 kWh has increased to 130 km, and the range of the 2025 Ather 450X 2.9 kWh has increased to 110 km. This means that riders can now enjoy Warp mode for a longer duration due to the increased range.

In terms of power, the 450S model is powered by a 5.4 kW motor and has a 0-40 kmph acceleration timing of 3.9 seconds. The 450X model packs a 6.4 kW motor and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Both scooters have a top speed of 90 kmph.

Regarding the battery, the standard vehicle warranty remains 3 years/30,000 km, but it can be extended to 8 years. The larger 3.7 kWh variant of the 2025 Ather 450X has a 0-80% charging time of 4 hours 30 minutes, while the 2.9 kWh variant has a 0-80% charging time of 3 hours.

The 2025 Ather 450 electric scooter will compete against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and the Ola S1 series. Notably, Ather's 450 series incorporates Magic Twist, the company's take on regeneration, which has been incorporated into the 450 series from the Ather Apex.

Overall, the 2025 Ather 450 series offers improved efficiency, increased range, and enhanced performance, making it an attractive option for electric scooter buyers in India.
