New administrative staff at Grubweg Primary School present themselves

Grubweg Elementary School in Passau, a significant institution within the city's school landscape, is starting a new chapter with the arrival of its new leadership team. The school commenced the new academic year 2025/2026 on August 1, 2025.

The new head of Grubweg Elementary School is Martina Abelein, who previously served as principal at Eging am See Elementary and Secondary School. Laura Jonas, who was a teacher at St. Nikola Elementary School, has taken on the role of deputy head. Both educators began their tenure on August 1, 2025.

The city of Passau, as the responsible authority, is keen on fostering a good cooperation with the school. Mayor Jürgen Dupper, School Board Director Klaus Sterner, and Werner Lang, the head of the department for economy and education, welcomed the new school leadership team during an official inaugural visit at the town hall on August 8, 2025.

The school building of Grubweg Elementary School has been undergoing extensive renovation since August 2024. The first construction phase focused on the roof, facade, and windows of the entrance hall and the changing room area. The second phase has already begun. The renovation will be completed in five phases, with a focus on the outer shell.

The city officials and the new school leaders expressed their enthusiasm for the upcoming school year and their shared commitment to the school's success. Grubweg Elementary School is poised for a bright future under the guidance of its new leadership team.
