New Agricultural Group Emerges in Sargenzell: The Formation of the Initial Farm-Kitagrupp
In a delightful turn of events, the city of HΓΌnfeld is set to welcome its first farm group as an extension of the daycare center, Buchfinkenland. The news was announced by Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok, who expressed his enthusiasm for the offer, stating it as a fantastic opportunity for the city's children.
The farm group, consisting of 20 children between the ages of three and six, will be housed in a 50-square-meter shelter currently being built on the outdoor area of the farm in Sargenzell. The construction, costing 130,000 euros, is scheduled to be completed soon, after which the group will move from their current temporary accommodation in the gym of the daycare center in Michelsrombach.
The farm in Sargenzell, owned by Sarah and Andreas Kruse, primarily focuses on the keeping and raising of mother cows and their calves. However, it also houses a variety of other animals such as horses, donkeys, pigs, and smaller pets like dogs, cats, and rabbits.
Arthur Hahn from the Buchfinkenland daycare center association was also thanked for his contributions, while Pia Biedenbach, the kindergarten director and local councilor, highlighted the commitment of her team in making the project possible. She also emphasized that the farm group is a matter close to their hearts.
The idea of establishing a permanent farm group emerged in recent months in cooperation with the Buchfinkenland daycare center association, the Kruse family, and the city of HΓΌnfeld. The farm group will serve as a living and learning space for the children throughout the year, with most of their kindergarten day spent with the animals and on the outdoor area of the farm in Sargenzell.
The large windows in the shelter connect the indoor area with the covered free-range area of the chickens on the farm, providing a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor activities. The shelter also boasts toilets, a washing area, a small kitchenette, and enough space for eating and playing on bad weather days.
Today marks the topping-out ceremony on the farm of the Petter and Kruse families in Sargenzell, a significant milestone in the project's development. The farm group in Sargenzell will be the second farm group in the Fulda district, following another successful venture.
Mayor Tschesnok, in his closing remarks, thanked the Kruse family for allowing the farm group to be established on their property, expressing his hope that this partnership will foster a love for nature and animals in the city's children.
