New appointee, Wehrmann, takes the helm as CEO of DRV
New CEO for the German Travel Association
After a decade at the helm, Dirk Inger is stepping down as CEO of the German Travel Association (DRV), a decision made at his own request. His departure will take effect on June 1, marking the end of an era for the travel industry association.
Stepping into Inger's shoes will be Achim Wehrmann, a seasoned professional with a rich background in crisis and security management. Wehrmann, who hails from East Westphalia, has spent the past few years leading the "Crisis and Security" unit at the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV).
Wehrmann's career in the public sector began in late 2008 when he joined the Shipping department within the BMDV. Prior to his role in the crisis team, Wehrmann led the Shipping department, where he played a significant part in the development of the National Port Strategy, a policy recently adopted by the federal government.
At 55 years old, Wehrmann brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the DRV. His tenure at the BMDV has been marked by a strong focus on crisis management and security, skills that will undoubtedly serve him well in his new role.
Wehrmann will be leaving his position at the BMDV to take on the CEO role at the DRV, a move that is sure to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the travel association. Inger's departure leaves big shoes to fill, but with Wehrmann at the helm, the DRV is poised for a bright future.
The German Travel Association (DRV) will welcome its new CEO, Achim Wehrmann, starting June 1. As the industry navigates the challenges of the post-pandemic world, Wehrmann's leadership and expertise will be invaluable in steering the association towards success.
