New initiative at city's library system
The Giessen City Library is gearing up for an exciting month filled with literature, music, and intrigue. Here's a rundown of the events taking place in November.
Firstly, C.S. Lewis's "The Magician's Nephew," from the acclaimed Chronicles of Narnia series, will be featured in the city library theater program. The author, C.S. Lewis, is well-known for his captivating storytelling, and this political thriller, which won the European Union Literature Prize in 2015, is no exception.
On November 6, local Texan and singer-songwriter, Tess Wiley, will perform at the library as part of the "Library's Stage" event series. Tess recently released her powerful EP, "Femme Sole," showcasing her maturity, independence, and versatility as a musician.
For those interested in true-crime novels, Erwin Müller will present his book, "Death Transit - The Stippbach Valley Murder Case," at the library on November 20. Based on a real, unsolved criminal case from 1981, this gripping novel promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
In addition, the city library will celebrate the nationwide "Day of Libraries" on October 24. The day will be filled with various activities, and on this day, Sacha Gutzeit will present the second volume of "The City-Country-Flow Detectives - The Night of the Phantom."

For those who can't wait for November, tickets for the events at the Giessen Crime Festival, including "The Magician," can be purchased from September 14th via their website. On October 30, the thriller "The Magician" by Magdalena Parys will be presented at the city council chambers.
