In an exciting move for car enthusiasts, MINI is rolling out a series of new customization options and 3D printed accessories across the UK and Europe in 2018.

The new offerings include dashboard inserts and indicator inlays, which can be personalised with five colours and various designs such as images, patterns, cityscapes, and personal graphics. These 3D printed accessories are not limited to new buyers; existing MINI owners can also design and have them added to their cars.

Moreover, a new optional seven-speed DCT gearbox is available for the 2018 MINI models, providing a smoother driving experience.

The 2018 MINI Hatch, five-door, and Convertible models are receiving additional tech and customization options. These include 3D printed accessories for bespoke side scuttles, trims, illuminated door sills, and LED door projectors. The 3D printed accessories are designed to be easy to fit at home and easy to remove when selling the car.

The initial 3D printed options being rolled out in 2018 include dashboard trim, LED puddle lights, illuminated sills, and side indicator inlays. The puddle lights can project personalized text, while the illuminated sills can display graphics, a star constellation, or even personal handwriting.

MINI is also launching a customization program called 'MINI Yours', with the first product under this program being the MINI Avenue, a custom MINI. MINI is collaborating with designer Paul Smith to build the MINI STRIP, a stripped-down MINI Electric, as part of the MINI Yours program.

However, no specific details about the cost of these 3D printed accessories, the new tech, or the MINI STRIP have been provided. Furthermore, it's unclear if there are any additional options beyond those mentioned for the 3D printed accessories.

The 3D printing personalization for MINI was developed by the EXCIT3D GmbH, a leading provider of individual software solutions at the interfaces of 3D technologies. MINI is known for launching multiple limited editions annually, suggesting that these new offerings are part of a broader strategy to cater to a diverse and personalized market.

Despite the lack of specific details, the new customization options and 3D printed accessories are set to bring a fresh and exciting dimension to the MINI brand, offering customers a unique opportunity to personalise their vehicles to their liking.
