New recruits join Bonn Police force in Bundesstadt: 109 additional officers appointed
The city of Bonn welcomed 109 new additions to its police force on September 1, 2025, as the Bonn Police Directorate hosted a welcome ceremony at its headquarters.
Klaus Zimmermann, Deputy Police President and Head of Criminal Investigation, presided over the event. He expressed his delight at the new recruits, including 108 police officers and 1 administrative official. Among the new officers, 88 have recently completed their studies at the University of Applied Sciences.
These 88 police officers have been appointed as police commissioners, while the remaining 160 individuals were appointed as police commissioner candidates. The dual study at the police in North Rhine-Westphalia has begun for the 160 candidates.
