Newcomers Begin their Customs Careers at the Primary Office in Schweinfurt: 23 Young Professionals Join the Customs Workforce

The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt welcomed 23 new recruits on September 2, 2025, marking the start of their journey towards exciting and varied careers in the customs service.

Among the new customs officers, 17 are undergoing a two-year training program in the middle service, while six are pursuing a three-year bachelor's degree in the higher service. The remaining recruits have chosen the dual study program, which lasts three years and concludes with an academic degree "Bachelor of Laws".

The new customs officers were inducted into the civil service and will be assigned to various tasks within customs upon completion of their training or studies. The middle service training, taught at the customs' own training center in Erfurt, prepares them for the professional title of "financial administrator". On the other hand, the theoretical parts of the higher service are completed at the Federal Administration Academy in MΓΌnster.

Interested parties can find detailed information on application, recruitment, training, and studies at customs at www.zoll-karriere.de or www.zoll.de ("Careers"). Applications for a start on September 1, 2026, at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt (middle and higher customs service) or at the General Customs Directorate (dual study of administrative informatics) are still open until October 15, 2025.

Judit Hercegfalvi has been leading the Hauptzollamt Schweinfurt since September 1, 2025. She expressed her enthusiasm for the new recruits, saying, "I am delighted to see so many young people joining us to build a secure future in a large federal administration."

In addition to the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, the General Customs Directorate continues to offer training and study opportunities in the coming years. The General Customs Directorate offers a dual study program in administrative informatics, providing a unique blend of theory and practice.

Theoretical and practical aspects alternate and build on each other in both the dual study program and the middle service training, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the customs service. With 1,700 young people beginning their training or studies in the middle or higher service at customs nationwide on September 1, 2025, it is clear that the customs service remains an attractive choice for many.
