NFL prospect Hayden Harris, hailing from Canada, undergoes fitness testing with the Chicago Bears, according to reliable sources.

Hayden Harris, a 24-year-old defensive lineman, hailing from Mill Creek, Washington, and with national status in Canada through his mother who was born in Vancouver, B.C. and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, worked out for the Chicago Bears on Thursday.

Harris' football journey began in high school where he played as a quarterback. However, he shifted his focus to defence in college, making a significant impact on the field.

Prior to transferring to the University of Montana, Harris spent four seasons at UCLA from 2019 to 2022, but did not record any statistics during his time there. A fresh start was on the horizon.

In 2023, Harris played football for the University of Montana, making 32 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in 14 contests. His performance earned him a second-team All-Big Sky Conference selection.

The following year, in 2024, Harris amassed an impressive 52 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception in 14 games for the University of Montana. This strong performance did not go unnoticed, as he was selected by the B.C. Lions in the CFL Draft, despite being from the United States.

Harris was selected in the second round, 11th overall, during the 2025 CFL Draft by the B.C. Lions. However, a setback occurred during training camp with the Buffalo Bills, as Harris was waived with an injury designation on July 31 due to a bilateral hamstring setback. No NFL team has made a contract offer to Harris since.

Despite this, Harris remains free to sign with any NFL team as he cleared waivers at the time of his release. His athletic abilities, combined with his determination, make him an attractive prospect for potential NFL teams.

Harris' extended family, including his grandparents, continue to reside in Regina, Saskatchewan, keeping a close connection to his Canadian roots. As Harris continues his quest to make it to the NFL, his story serves as an inspiration to many.
