Prosecutor Pursues Imprisonment Term of Nine Years for Hanna S. at Federal Level - Nine-year imprisonment sought for Hanna S. by the prosecution
The trial of Hanna S., an alleged left-wing extremist, is currently underway in Munich. Hanna S. is accused of carrying out violent attacks on individuals attributed to the right-wing extremist spectrum during an event in Budapest known as the "Day of Honor."
The Federal Prosecutor has described Hanna S.'s actions as "terrorism of violence." The prosecutor is demanding a nine-year imprisonment for Hanna S., citing her alleged membership in a criminal organization, attempted murder, and dangerous bodily harm.
One of the alleged attacks involved kneeling on a man's arm to prevent him from defending himself against blows and kicks. The man was attacked, according to the prosecutor, "because he was a political dissident."
Yunus Ziyal, the defense attorney representing Hanna S., argues that the accusations lack foundation and criticizes the prosecution's severe sentencing demands. Ziyal described the "Day of Honor" as a "neo-Nazi spectacle" at the beginning of the trial.
The "Day of Honor" is a gathering of right-wing extremists commemorating the attempted breakout of the German Wehrmacht, the Waffen-SS, and their Hungarian collaborators from a city besieged by the Red Army. The event in Budapest where the alleged attacks occurred is known as the "Day of Honor."
The verdict in the trial against Hanna S. is expected for September 26. Following the plea of the Federal Prosecutor, the closing arguments of the co-plaintiff and the defense are to follow. The trial is ongoing.
