Novak Djokovic overcomes back trouble to outplay Norrie in US Open victory

In a thrilling display of tennis, Novak Djokovic, the world number one, reached the fourth round of the US Open. The Serbian star, who is the oldest man to reach the last 16 at Flushing Meadows since Jimmy Connors in 1991, showcased his dominance on the hardcourt.

Djokovic began his match against Cameron Norrie with a strong start, breaking for a 4-3 lead in the first set. However, Norrie fought back, leveling the match in the tiebreak. Djokovic, undeterred, responded by winning three straight games after the break in the third set.

The youngest player to qualify for the fourth round of the US Open since Jimmy Connors in 1991, Carlos Alcaraz, was spectating as Djokovic improved his record against Norrie to 7-0. Djokovic's serving performance was particularly impressive, with him winning 18 aces during the match.

In a surprising turn of events, Djokovic surpassed Roger Federer to become the man with the most hardcourt victories at the majors. The Serbian star, who is as young and strong as ever, considers his performance on Friday an improvement compared to his first two matches.

During the match, Djokovic paused during the third set to address someone in the Arthur Ashe Stadium stands to stay quiet. He mentioned that he does not want to reveal too much about his injury to his rivals.
