In a shocking turn of events, a hit-and-run incident occurred in Brooklyn on Sunday, Aug. 31, around 8:30 p.m. The victim was an NYPD sergeant who was directing traffic at the time. The incident happened at the corner of Schenectady and Church Avenues in East Flatbush.

The sergeant, assigned to the 67th Precinct, was struck from behind by a black sedan with orange license plates. The sedan fled the scene after the collision. The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital, and as of the current update, no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

The victim's current condition is stable, but no further details about the condition of the sergeant have been released. The police are actively searching for the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
