In a shocking turn of events, a 20-year-old man named Vinay Verma has been accused of sending an improvised explosive device (IED) disguised as a music system to Afsar Khan in Manpur village, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district, Chhattisgarh, on August 15.

The incident, which claimed the lives of Afsar and his brother, is said to be the second such incident in the state. The parcel was delivered at Afsar Khan's shop, where he found it unusually heavy and suspected it. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the parcel had a fake India Post logo.

Afsar, an electrician, immediately informed the local Gandai police, who along with a Bomb Detection and Disposal Team and a dog, reached the spot. They detected the bomb triggered with the speakers of the music system. The music system was equipped with gelatines which will be triggered to explode when plugged in.

Technical evidence led the police to identify Vinay Verma as the accused. It was established that Vinay had a one-sided love with Afsar's wife, who was his schoolmate in their village. The police also found that Vinay had learned bomb making online, as evidenced by the mobile phone seized from him.

Six of Vinay's accomplices were arrested: Parameshwar Verma (25), Gopal Verma (22), Ghasiram Verma (46), Dilip Kumar (38), Gopal Khelwar (29), and Khilesh Verma (19).

In a similar incident in April 2023, Sarju Markam (33) sent a wedding gift, a home theatre fixed with a bomb, to the man who married the girl he was in love with in Kabirdham District.

The Union Cabinet has approved an Online Gaming Bill, but the details of this bill were not mentioned in the provided paragraphs.

Vinay Verma is an ITI diploma holder and works as an electrician, installing bore-wells. The police have warned the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious parcels or activities to the authorities.
