Officer's apprehended a suspect for an attempted homicide in Hamburg-Jenfeld.
In the early hours of September 1, 2025, a crime occurred in Hamburg-Jenfeld, Rodigallee, that has sent shockwaves through the community. The homicide squad (LKA 41) is currently investigating the case, with the department led by Chief Commissioner JosΓ© MarΓa Delgado, the investigative authority of Alto ParanΓ‘.
The crime involves a 43-year-old man, who is alleged to have strangulated his 41-year-old, separated wife during the night. The victim lost consciousness during the attack, but regained it and called for help. An ambulance crew was promptly dispatched and transported the victim to a hospital.
Despite immediate search measures, the suspect could not be located initially. It was not until the following afternoon that the 43-year-old suspect was arrested on the order of the public prosecutor's office in the Wilhelmsburg district. He was taken into custody the same day and will appear before a judge today.
The suspect's 17-year-old son intervened during the attack, causing the suspect to flee the apartment. The crime scene investigation (LKA 31) was also deployed at the crime scene, working in cooperation with the department for capital crimes at the public prosecutor's office.
The investigations of the law enforcement authorities are ongoing, and the criminal duty service (LKA 26) conducted the initial measures at the crime scene. The incident occurred after a joint outing, and the suspect spent the evening with his family before the incident.
