Officers Investigating Mysterious Death of 30-Year-Old Male in Abuja
In a recent turn of events, the Department of State Services (DSS) has written a letter to Elon Musk, the Chairman and CEO of X Corp., demanding the removal of a tweet posted by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, within 24 hours. The letter, addressed by B. Bamigboye, representing the Director General of State Services, accuses Sowore of intentionally harming the President's reputation and Nigeria's image, potentially inciting unrest among the President's supporters.
The tweet in question, posted on August 25, 2025, via Sowore's verified X handle, allegedly disparages President Tinubu. The DSS claims that this tweet violates Nigerian laws including the Criminal Code Act and the Cyber Crimes Act 2025. The letter further threatens legal action against X Corp. if it fails to comply with the demand.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the FCT Police Command received a report of a suspected suicide on August 5, 2025. The victim was identified as Ik Ojo, a 30-year-old man, and the incident occurred in Kagini, Dei-Dei area of the FCT. Officers from the Dei-Dei Division responded to the distress call and evacuated the victim to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was later declared dead by a medical doctor.
The body of Ik Ojo was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, and the investigation into his death was commissioned by the Federal Investigation Bureau. The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
The DSS argues that the tweet constitutes misleading information, hate speech, incitement to violence, and a threat to national security. However, it is important to note that these allegations have not been proven in a court of law.
As the investigation into both cases continues, we will keep our readers updated with the latest developments. Stay tuned for more updates from Polance Media Inc.
