In the small town of Hünxe, Weseler Straße became the site of an unexpected event on April 28, 2025, at 22:42. Units from Hünxe and Bucholtwelmen were alerted with the call sign "Oil Spill" as a hydraulic hose on a heavy transport trailer burst, causing an approximately 500-meter long oil spill.

The first responders on the scene included the Volunteer Fire Department Hünxe, who were called for support due to the location of the spill. The on-call officer of the Hünxe municipality's public order office was also present.

Large oil stains were treated with a binding agent to prevent them from spreading into the green strip. The operation to clean the oil spill was completed after approximately two and a half hours, with the scene then handed over to a specialized company for cleaning the road.
