The unfortunate event occurred on Thursday evening, as the team was returning from a training session following their journey to Lorraine and Luxembourg by TGV on Friday. The driver of the bus, Rémi D., was found to have fainted, causing the accident. As a result, everyone on board sustained glass shards in their skin due to the accident.

The bus slid for about fifty meters after overturning, its right side lying in the ditch.
