The Youth Education Institute of the University City of Giessen has unveiled an extensive programme of events and training opportunities for the Autumn-Winter season. This programme is designed to benefit young people, offering a variety of activities that cater to diverse interests and learning needs.

The programme includes advanced training events for employees and volunteers in children and youth work. These events range from "Music on TikTok" and "City Bound - Experiential Pedagogy in the City", to football seminars, pottery, self-assertion workshops for girls and boys, 3D printing, top rope climbing, screen printing, studio recording, and events related to the municipal election 2026.

Leading the training and information events for employees and volunteers in the children and youth sector are Birgit Schlathölter (M.A. in Educational Science), Egon Wielsch, Tassilo Köhler, and Merlin Niklosz.

City Councilor Frau Weigel-Greilich emphasised that the events are designed to benefit young people, providing them with new experiences, opportunities to learn about current topics, or simply have a good time together.

Notably, the programme also offers low-cost to free events, making it accessible to many. The Youth Education Institute is a recognised provider of educational leave, ensuring that participants can take part in these events without worrying about missing school or work.

The event series "Remember, remind, be vigilant" includes city walks, readings, and information events related to Jewish history and anti-Semitism, such as "Historical everyday traces of Jewish and Jewish people in Giessen", "The Boy with the Mouth Harmonica", and "TikTok and Anti-Semitism".

In addition, the Institute offers young trainees, workers, students, and other interested parties up to the age of 26 the opportunity to explore Copenhagen for five days as part of the educational leave program "Make it happen! - Green City Copenhagen".

Juleica training and the professional educational leave "Leadership and Management in Social Institutions" are also part of the programme. The 3rd Giessen Youth Congress is another significant event included in the programme.
