Online Activities Devour Nearly Half of Americans' Daily Time - Surprising Survey Reveals
======================================================================================
A new survey conducted by Optimum has revealed that Americans are spending nearly half their day online, with an average of more than 10 hours daily accessing the Web.
The online survey, which was conducted between May 6-14 with 2,000 adults ages 18 and over who subscribe or use home Internet service, found that Americans spend 5.4 hours daily browsing, working, gaming, using social media, reading email, or paying bills online. This is in addition to the 5 hours they spend streaming video or TV content daily.
Eric Bruno, senior vice president of product management for Optimum, stated that the survey was eye-opening. He expressed surprise at the number of hours Americans spend online for watching, shopping, and browsing. Bruno also stated that the survey underscores the importance of a strong, affordable, and reliable Internet in today's world.
The survey results show that 72% of customers shop online, with nearly 80% browsing or paying bills online. A majority of people (55%) use their television to stream shows or movies, while 44% of customers access general Internet service from their TV.
In terms of device usage, 25% of people use laptop or desktop computers or tablets for general Internet consumption, while 20% of people use mobile phones for the same purpose.
The survey also found that 37% of customers handle work assignments online, and 20% of customers complete school work online. Furthermore, 73% of customers scour social media.
However, it's worth noting that the search results do not specify which company conducted the survey among 2,000 US internet subscribers.
Bruno concluded that the survey results highlight the need for Internet service providers to continue investing in infrastructure and technology to meet the growing demand for high-speed, reliable Internet access. By doing so, they can help Americans stay connected and productive in their personal and professional lives.
