Open water swimming season concludes on August 31, 2025
The 2025 outdoor swimming season has come to an end on August 31, marking the conclusion of a busy summer for both the Milchborntal outdoor pool and the Paffrath combination pool. Approximately 70,000 swimming guests enjoyed the refreshing waters during this season.
Despite the challenge of a personnel shortage, particularly in pool surveillance, the swimming operation was maintained smoothly without major restrictions. Manfred Habrunner, Managing Director of Bathing Operations Company Bergisch Gladbach GmbH, commended the team's efforts and continued to stress the importance of long-term training and recruitment of specialists in bathing operations.
In an effort to address the personnel shortage, the Bathing Operations Company is focusing on targeted youth promotion, internal qualification measures, and cooperations. These initiatives aim to attract new talent and ensure the continuity of high-quality swimming operations.
From September 1, 2025, the Paffrath combination pool will extend its opening hours. The indoor and outdoor area will be open from 6:15 AM - 9:00 PM on Thursdays, and the outdoor area with the heated 50m pool will be open from 6:15 AM - 9:00 PM on Tuesdays. This extended accessibility is expected to cater to a wider range of swimmers and provide more opportunities for enjoyable aquatic activities.
