On Friday, August 29, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Gelsenkirchen Police were called to KΓΆnigsweiher park in Buer, following reports of a disturbance. The incident involved a 51-year-old Gelsenkirchen resident who was under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicating substances.

The police were assisting the municipal public order service who intended to impose measures on the resident due to an administrative offense. However, the 51-year-old resisted, causing a commotion. He resisted being restrained, approaching officers aggressively, and even attempted to bite an officer. The man also kicked and head-butted the forces, injuring himself on both arms and the right eye during the resistance.

As a result, an ambulance was called, and the 51-year-old was secured on a stretcher. Employees of the public order service and officers were slightly injured but remained fit for duty. An emergency judge ordered a blood sample due to the man's injuries.

The Gelsenkirchen Police Control Center can be contacted at Holger Stolp (0209/365 2160) for inquiries. The official website of the Gelsenkirchen police is https://gelsenkirchen.polizei.nrw/. Email correspondence can be sent to [email protected].

At this time, there is no publicly available information about the name of the 51-year-old resident of Gelsenkirchen who caused the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
