Order mandates the reinstatement of Amartya Roy's nomination for Jucsu elections
Jahangirnagar University: Legal Notice Sent over Cancellation of Amartya Roy's Candidacy
A legal notice has been sent to the authorities of Jahangirnagar University and the Jucsu Election Commission on September 7, 20XX, seeking the reinstatement of Amartya Roy John's candidacy for the vice-president post in the upcoming Jucsu election.
The notice, issued by senior lawyer Barrister Sara Hossain on behalf of Amartya, comes in response to the cancellation of his candidacy announced by the Election Commission yesterday, which excluded his name from the voters' and candidates' lists.
The University Teachers' Network (UTN) has strongly criticized the cancellation of Amartya Roy's candidacy. In a statement published today, the UTN condemned the decision, stating that it is part of an ongoing administrative conspiracy and has tainted the electoral process. The UTN believes that the long-awaited election is being thwarted administratively.
Amartya, who was contesting from the "Sampritir Oikya" panel, stated that he will challenge the administration's decision to cancel his candidacy through legal means. The UTN also expressed concerns that the cancellation of Amartya Roy's candidacy is hindering the building of a democratic Bangladesh.
The Jucsu Chief Election Commissioner, Moniruzzaman, stated that they are yet to receive any such legal notice. If a formal notice is submitted, the Jucsu Election Commission will consult with their legal adviser before deciding the next course of action.
The name of the legal expert who filed the application for the restoration of Amartya Roy John's candidacy is not publicly available at this time. The UTN's statement also accused the administration of an ongoing conspiracy regarding the electoral process.
The UTN's statement concluded by expressing their belief that the cancellation of Amartya Roy's candidacy has undermined the democratic values that the university and the nation stand for. They called for a fair and transparent election process, free from administrative interference.
