Outdoor programming sessions in abundance
In the heart of Bavaria, the city of Landshut is gearing up for an exciting cultural extravaganza. The Kultursommer Landshut 2024 program, previously known as the Landshuter Kulturfestival Open Air, promises a diverse array of open-air events from May to September.
The central online hub for this cultural celebration, www.erleben.our website/kultursommer, serves as a one-stop destination for information and ticket sales for the various events. Eight organisers, including the city, local event organisers, and cultural institutions, have joined forces to bring around 80 events to the city.
Benedikt Schramm, head of the cultural department, and Alexander Putz, the city's mayor, have expressed their satisfaction with the diversity of the program. Schramm believes that Kultursommer Landshut contributes to the city flourishing together through cultural creators, while Putz praised the program's rich offerings.
Some of the key participants include Männerladen, offering the LaSoNa-Open Air on Burg Trausnitz; Concert Bureau Landshut, presenting the Open Air-Gartenfest in Weihbuhl; Landshuter Messe- und Veranstaltungs GmbH & Co. KG, organising Open Air on the Ringelstecherwiese, Summer Garden on the Mühleninsel, and Spektakel Landshut; and Rocket Club, hosting its summer festival.
The Landestheater Niederbayern is also on board, offering Burgenfestspiele, while Haus International will present spring concerts, open-air concerts, and cinema in the open air at the Rochuskapelle. Alte Kaserne, too, will be part of the festivities, offering the "Umsonst und Draußen" series.
One of the highlights of the program is "Tanz die Trausnitz", an event on Burg Trausnitz, though the specific organiser remains unclear. The organisers have praised the diversity of events and venues in Kultursommer Landshut, with Schramm and Bragulla, Director of Marketing, expressing that promoting the Kultursommer helps advertise the location of Landshut.
