The city of Düsseldorf recently witnessed a heartwarming event as the Gerresheimer Bürgerwehr and the Catholic Youth (KakaJu) joined forces to host a charity bivouac. The event, held at the Golden Kessel on February 11th, was a resounding success, raising 1,555 euros for the palliative station of the university clinic.

The bivouac, which continued the tradition of the Gerresheimer Bürgerwehr's biwak with a focus on charity and helping others, was a colourful affair. The stage was dominated by the colours red and white, symbolising both the KG Gerresheimer Bürgerwehr and the Düsseldorf Prince's Guard.

The event began with an appeal for democratic voting, led by Marco Schmitz and Thomas Jazombek. They encouraged everyone to exercise their voting rights on Sunday. The programme included performances by various dance groups, friendly associations, and carnival enthusiasts, adding to the festive atmosphere. The Rhine Guard Blue-White and other dance groups provided a vibrant display of dance and music.

The prince's couple attended the event and was warmly received by the visitors. The event highlighted that carnival is not just about partying, sessions, and parades but is a connecting element between people.

The collected donations will significantly improve the quality of care for patients at the palliative station. The funds will be used to fund supplementary therapy forms and family accompaniment that are not covered by the statutory basic performance. Dr. Martin Neukirchen, the head of the palliative station, received the donation of 1,555 euros.

The donations will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients at the palliative station, ensuring they receive the best possible care during their time of need. The Gerresheimer Bürgerwehr and KakaJu's collaboration is a testament to the power of community spirit and the generosity of those who came together to make a difference.
