Stevie Bonifield, a freelance tech journalist specializing in mobile tech, gaming gear, and accessories, has been following the potential development of a Call of Duty film with great interest. The new chairman and CEO of Paramount, David Ellison, is reportedly interested in acquiring the film rights to the popular video game franchise.

Ellison is not alone in his pursuit. Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, studio chiefs at Paramount, are also said to be interested in the Call of Duty film rights. However, Paramount may face obstacles in securing the rights, as Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has expressed hesitation about film adaptations.

If a Call of Duty movie is to happen, it may require a studio that can convince Spencer they truly understand the source material and have a meaningful way to adapt it. The challenge of figuring out which Call of Duty game(s) to adapt and which character to center the film on remains.

Potential candidates for the main character in a Call of Duty film include Alex Mason from Black Ops or John Price from Modern Warfare. Several sources suggest that a Call of Duty film could feature a completely new main character, similar to the approach taken with the Fallout film.

In the meantime, tech enthusiasts looking for new graphics cards have several options to consider. The best value graphics card is the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB, while the best overall graphics card is the AMD Radeon RX 9070. For those on a budget, the Intel Arc B570 offers a cost-effective solution.

For high-end performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is the recommended choice, while the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti offers a mid-range option.

Stevie Bonifield, outside of his writing, has interests in indie games, tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), and building custom keyboards. He continues to follow the developments surrounding the potential Call of Duty film with great anticipation.

Paramount is currently in negotiations for the film rights to Call of Duty but has not yet sealed the deal. The future of a Call of Duty film remains uncertain, but fans of the franchise can only hope that the right studio will step up to the challenge and deliver an adaptation that does justice to the beloved series.

Activision announced plans for a cinematic universe based on Call of Duty in 2015, but it never materialized. With the potential for a film adaptation now on the horizon, fans can only cross their fingers and wait to see what the future holds.
