Paramount+ Set to Go Live on March 4th
Paramount+, the highly-anticipated streaming service, is set to debut on March 4, 2021. This new platform is the result of the merger of Viacom and CBS, now known as ViacomCBS (now Paramount Global).
The service will be the hub for assets from Viacom and CBS, including Paramount Pictures, BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and many more. Paramount+ will replace CBS All Access in less than two months, offering a super-stuffed version of its predecessor.
One of the original series on Paramount+ is "The Offer," a 10-episode limited series about the making of The Godfather. Other originals include "Lioness," a CIA-focused drama, and "The Real Criminal Minds," a true-crime docuseries based on the CBS series.
CBS All Access originals already available on the service will join these new originals on Paramount+. Additionally, ViacomCBS has plans to expand Paramount+ throughout 2021, with more original series and collaborations yet to be announced.
Paramount+ will collaborate with Sky in several European countries and plans to operate jointly with Pluto TV from 2026, expanding its content offerings. However, specific details about the pricing for Paramount+ have not been officially announced yet.
It's worth noting that CBS All Access offers live sports and news coverage as well. More specifics about Paramount+ will be revealed during an investors call next month. Until then, fans can look forward to the launch of Paramount+ on March 4.
In September of the previous year, Paramount+ was announced, marking the beginning of a new era in streaming entertainment. With its diverse content offerings, Paramount+ is poised to become a major player in the streaming industry. Stay tuned for more updates!
