Partnership hailed between ROGA and RGC for ethical gambling endorsement

The Responsible Online Gambling Association (ROGA) and the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) have joined forces to develop a new Responsible Gambling Certification program in the United States.

The collaboration, initiated by ROGA's executive director, Dr. Jennifer Shatley, in conjunction with RGC CEO Sarah McCarthy, aims to spearhead stronger consumer protections in the online gambling industry. The new program will offer guidance and conduct independent reviews in key areas such as self-exclusion initiatives, marketing, staff training, and player support tools.

Dr. Shatley expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that a sustainable online gaming industry must be built on evidence-based best practices. She believes that this collaboration with the RGC will advance this mission by building a trusted and independent assessment to certify robust responsible gaming standards.

Sarah McCarthy, CEO of the RGC, shared Dr. Shatley's enthusiasm for the partnership. The RGC, which has celebrated its leadership in player protection for the past 40 years, has been championing both prevention and responsible gambling solutions across the world. The new certification program will build on the RGC's years of evidence-based work and experience with RG Check.

The goal of the new certification program is to establish a data-driven and evidence-based certification model for operators that are committed to maintaining a safe gambling environment. The program will immediately seek to certify all of ROGA's members, with the aim of elevating standards across the online gambling industry.

The collaboration between RGC and ROGA includes work on the public awareness initiative, Know Your Play, and the two organizations have previously conducted joint research on engaging players with responsible gambling tools. The partnership is expected to create a more transparent, accountable, and player-focused industry.

Dr. Jennifer Shatley has welcomed the opportunity to see this new initiative formed, expressing her belief that the collaboration will result in a more responsible and safe online gambling environment for all players. The new Responsible Gambling Certification program is set to revolutionise the online gambling industry, ensuring that operators meet the necessary standards of responsible gambling and player safety.
