Pending Decision on Implementation of New Regulations
In the fifth matchday of the championship, Fimauto Valpolicella showcased their dominance against Riozzese, securing a convincing 4-0 victory.
The game started with a bang, as Alana Marshall scored the opening goal just a minute into the match, assisted by Solow. After 30 seconds, Hannula had a chance but was denied by the Lombard goalkeeper.
At the 7th minute, Marshall scored her second goal of the match, this time after a nice exchange between Hannula and Capovilla. The second half opened with Angarano's excellent shot hitting the crossbar, causing some concern for Fimauto's defense.
Hannula responded with a spectacular left-footed shot from distance to make it 2-0 at the 32nd minute. The goal was set up by Boni, who provided Hannula with a chance in the area.
Riozzese tried to mount a comeback, with Mauri shooting wide at the 17th minute and Pasquino replacing Mauri at the 30th minute. However, it was Fimauto who continued to dominate the game.
At the 43rd minute, Hannula scored her second goal of the match, this time capitalizing on a rebound after Dempster's shot hit the post. Boni had another chance to score at the 5th minute but was saved after a nice assist from Usvardi.
The red-and-blue strikers continued to press, with Boni delighting the crowd with a high school-level chip at the 59th minute, assisted by Benincaso who came on for Capovilla. Angarano also got on the scoresheet, scoring at the 59th minute with a surprise cross-shot that beat Meleddu.
Tombola replaced Usvardi at the 55th minute, and Mascanzoni replaced Dempster at the 69th minute. Fimauto's formation of 3-5-2 proved effective, with Dempster and Capovilla up front, Solow and Usvardi in midfield, and Boni in defence.
Boni scored her second goal of the match at the 63rd minute, assisted by Benincaso. Visentini returned to the bench after an ankle injury, but was not able to make an appearance in the match.
The victory keeps Fimauto in second place, two points behind Pro San Bonifacio, the sole leader. Inter is two points behind Fimauto, making the race for the championship title tight. The next match for Fimauto is on Sunday, November 20th, at the Olivieri Stadium against the Varese-based Azalee team.
Coaches Matteo Festa and Diego Zuccher led their teams in the match, with Festa guiding Fimauto to their fourth win of the season. Riozzese's coach was not identified in the match results.
