Pensions in Belarus will soon be disbursed - identifying the eligible recipients

In a significant development, the Belarusian government's voluntary pension program, popularly known as the "3+3" program, is set to make its first payments to over 47 citizens this November-December. This initiative, which began three years ago, aims to provide an additional pension to those who join the program three years before the standard retirement age.

As of now, approximately 55,000 Belarusians have taken advantage of this opportunity. The age group that most frequently considers and uses this opportunity is between 48 and 57 years old. Women account for 70% of these cases, with 64% of them choosing the "3+3" tariff.

The program allows employees to contribute 1 to 10% of their gross salary, with their employers contributing the same amount, but not more than 3%. Both the employee and the employer or the state are required to contribute to the pension fund. The state will also add the same amount, up to 3%, to the pension contributions of those participating in the additional pension insurance system.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Pavlyuchenko made these announcements, emphasising the program's initial goal of creating attractive and low-risk conditions for Belarusians to save for their retirement.

For those with an average salary of Br1500 over the last five years, participating in this program could potentially result in an additional Br107 per month. Many Belarusians prefer to receive these additional payments over a period of five years.

It's worth noting that, as of this writing, there are no available search results specifically stating how many Belarusians have joined the voluntary, state-supported pension insurance program so far. However, the growing number of participants indicates a positive response to this initiative.

The first payments under the "3+3" program are expected to bring a sense of security and financial relief to those who have been saving for their retirement through this program. This development underscores the Belarusian government's commitment to supporting its citizens in their golden years.
