PepsiCo partners with the National Geographic Society in introducing the Food for Tomorrow program, emphasizing regenerative agriculture practices.

In a bid to address the growing challenges in the global food system and mitigate environmental threats, the National Geographic Society and PepsiCo have announced a groundbreaking collaboration. Dubbed 'Food for Tomorrow', this partnership aims to raise awareness about the positive impact of regenerative agriculture on farmers, the food system, and the planet, and to empower individuals to make more sustainable food choices.

The collaboration will support National Geographic Explorers, including Pablo Albarenga, Caitlin Ochs, and Miora Rajaonary. These Explorers, supported by the Food for Tomorrow program, are focusing on documenting regenerative agriculture and its impact. Albarenga tells stories of small farmers and indigenous communities leading a quiet regenerative revolution through multimedia storytelling. Ochs highlights the effects of climate change on water and agriculture in the US and Costa Rica, showcasing scalable innovations by farmers. Rajaonary documents the Great Green Wall project in Senegal, which combats desertification and promotes climate resilience.

PepsiCo and National Geographic have also developed three short films to capture firsthand how farmers are embracing regenerative agriculture. These films will provide a glimpse into the transformative power of this approach.

In addition to storytelling, the partnership will also see the development of a dynamic data visualization mapping tool. This tool, planned for publication on the National Geographic Society website in 2026, will be a valuable resource for farmers, scientists, and the general public. It will showcase how regenerative agriculture boosts food and farming resilience, offering insights into its global impact.

The mapping tool is not the only innovation to come from this collaboration. The National Geographic Society and PepsiCo will also fund "Building Resilience in Agriculture", offering up to five scientific grants. This program seeks innovative, nature-positive proposals that aim to find solutions that scale regenerative agricultural practices globally.

The world's population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, and according to UNESCO reports, close to 90% of the planet's soil could be degraded by that date. Regenerative agriculture, which restores soil health and natural resources, is being proposed as a solution to feed the growing population and mitigate environmental threats.

Ramon Laguarta, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO, stated that the collaboration aims to support farmers, protect the planet, and help build a stronger, more resilient future for all. Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society, echoed this sentiment, stating that the collaboration aims to fuel a global movement to build a thriving future for generations to come.

This collaboration between National Geographic and PepsiCo is a significant step towards inspiring positive change in the global food system and promoting regenerative agriculture as a sustainable solution for the future.
