On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 7 PM, the "Sounds of Hope" orchestra will present a unique concert titled "Friendships" at the Mendelssohn Hall of the Gewandhaus. This event, funded by the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion, aims to build bridges between cultures and open new musical paths.

The "Sounds of Hope" orchestra, led by artistic director Ali Pirabi, is a diverse ensemble of around 30 musicians hailing from Syria, Iran, Italy, Algeria, Ukraine, Spain, Czech Republic, Chile, Brazil, Guinea, China, and Germany. The concert will feature a blend of European instruments such as violin, clarinet, and piano, as well as non-European instruments like oud, baglama, santur, and tar.

Notable vocalists for the concert include Karolina Trybala and Selim Yildiz. Highlights of the orchestra's performances include participating in the closing service of the German Catholic Day at the Erfurt Cathedral (2024) and international tours to Lyon (France, 2022) and GdaΕ„sk (Poland, 2022).

The concert will showcase a harmonious fusion of Jewish, Arabic, and Persian melodies with global rhythms. Previous venues for the orchestra's performances include the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Pauli Ruine in Dresden, and the theater in Erfurt.

Tickets for this culturally enriching event are priced at 10 € and can be purchased at www.gewandhausorchester.de/. For more information, visit: www.transkulturelles-musikforum.de. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the power of music in fostering unity and understanding.
