Person purchases orange juice from store, ends up leaving with a massive $315 million windfall

Tayeb Souami, a married father-of-two and an accountant based in New Jersey, has won a staggering $315 million (around £236 million) Powerball jackpot in May 2018. The winning ticket was a second one he purchased after returning a carton of orange juice.
Souami, who uses the California Lottery, did not check his lottery tickets the night he bought them. It was only the next day, at a 7-Eleven store, that he decided to scan his tickets. The first ticket scanned was not a winner, but the second ticket required verification by the retailer.
The press conference to announce Souami's win took place on 5 August 2024. Souami joked that he would be buying a lot more orange juice, a nod to the incident that led to his life-changing win.
In the press conference, Souami expressed his priority was to use the money to support his son and daughter with their education. He has already refinanced his home to cover the cost of their college tuition.
Despite his extraordinary win, Souami did not express any interest in splashing out on anything extravagant for himself or his wife. Instead, he plans to invest the money wisely and use it to secure a comfortable future for his family.
