Person suffers minor injuries in mishap
In the heart of Bielefeld, an unusual traffic incident occurred on Lipper Hellweg street on Friday afternoon.
At around 4:20 PM, a Toyota Roomster, driven by an 85-year-old resident of the city, was travelling towards Oerlinghauser StraΓe. Meanwhile, a Toyota Yaris, parked on the right side of the road, had its left rear door left open. The driver, a 33-year-old woman from Bielefeld, was securing her infant in a child seat.
Unfortunately, the open door of the Toyota Yaris met with the right side of the Toyota Roomster, causing significant damage to the latter, including a broken side mirror. The Toyota Yaris also sustained severe denting to its left rear door, making it impossible to close. As a result, the Toyota Yaris had to be towed away.
The total property damage was estimated to be approximately 8,000 euros. The 33-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in the collision but declined an ambulance.
For further inquiries, the Bielefeld Police Headquarters at Kurt-Schumacher-StraΓe 46, 33615 Bielefeld, can be contacted during office hours. After hours, the Control Center at Tel. 0521/545-0 can be reached.
