Personalized shopping suggestions now available through the new Ssense app
In the bustling world of retail, mobile shopping apps have become an integral part of the consumer experience. The latest addition to this digital marketplace is the Ssense app, launched by Montreal-based fashion retailer Ssense on October 22.
According to recent data from Sensor Tower's Store Intelligence platform, first-time users for the top 10 U.S. mobile shopping apps increased by more than 16% on Black Friday compared to last year. This surge in mobile shopping activity suggests a growing preference for convenient and accessible shopping experiences, a trend that Ssense aims to capitalise on.
The Ssense app is designed with the needs of younger shoppers in mind, responding to the "swipes, taps, and pinches" that are common among this demographic. It features personalised recommendations, search and filter functions, and a sorting catalog to help users find products more easily.
The timing of Ssense's app launch could be primed to reach consumers as the holiday shopping season kicks off. To further engage with its audience, Ssense has announced a four-part series on Ssense Tech, which will feature weekly articles and explore the company's product strategy, software development, and the collection layout system.
Research from ContentSquare indicates that 60% of Gen Z will not use an app or website that's too slow, and 62% will not use an app that's challenging to navigate. To ensure a smooth user experience, the Ssense app has been designed with these factors in mind.
The app's availability in multiple languages β English, French, Japanese, and Mandarin β also caters to a diverse user base. Notably, nearly 80% of Ssense's customers are between 18 and 34 years old, making the app a strategic move to tap into this demographic.
Ssense is not the only retailer investing in mobile apps. H&M and Ulta, among others, have introduced or updated their mobile apps in recent years. According to a mobile report from BRP, 85% of shoppers have bought an item through a mobile app. Moreover, more than 83% of consumers were pleased with their experience using retailer mobile apps, according to Synchrony's findings.
Prior research from ContentSquare found that Gen Z converts twice as much via mobile as other demographics, underscoring the potential of mobile apps in driving sales. With the Ssense app's personalised recommendations and user-friendly design, it aims to capitalise on this trend and offer a seamless shopping experience for its customers.
The specific individuals involved in the development of the SSENSE app are not publicly listed; the app is provided by Groupe Atallah Inc, located in MontrΓ©al, Canada. The Ssense app is now available for download on iOS and Android devices.
