Photographer's captivating shot clinches a Leica camera, vacation to Switzerland, and a day of mountain photography with Chris Burkard!
The Mammut Photo Contest, a highlight of the competition calendar, has announced its category and grand prize winners. Established by Mammut CEO, Heiko Schäfer, the contest attracted over 10,000 entries from more than 80 countries.
In the "Visit Must-See Landmarks" category, Pete Elliott emerged as the winner with his stunning photograph capturing a perfect sunset moment in the French Alps. Elliott's winning image, taken using a Fujifilm X-H2S camera, showcases the breathtaking beauty of Lacs des Chéserys, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France. This victory earned him a Grand Prize pack including a Leica SL2-S camera, travel to Switzerland, a Mammut Deluxe Summer Kit, Angelbird storage and accessories, and a Capture One subscription.
Elliott's success did not end there. He also won a day photographing the Swiss Alps with renowned photographer Chris Burkard.
In the "Check-In Early" category, Jay Blatti was the winner. His winning photograph was captured on a Canon EOS R6, showcasing Creux du Van, Switzerland, a picturesque Swiss chasm that offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The "Escape the Tourist Traps" category saw Ruud Luijten take the top spot. His winning photograph, captured on an undisclosed camera, depicts the icy landscapes of West Greenland, offering an untouched and serene view of the region.
Jb Liautard won the "Hang with the Locals" category with his photograph of La Paz, Bolivia, taken using a Canon EOS 1D-X Mark III. The "Dine al Fresco" category was won by Arnaud Lesueur, whose winning photograph was taken in Finhaut, Switzerland.
Lastly, in the "Book a Room with a View" category, Julia Atienza emerged victorious with her photograph of Aletsch Glacier, close to Märjelenseen, Switzerland. Her winning photograph was captured using a Canon AE-1 Program film camera.
