Piano Night: A Blend of Impressionism and Romanticism at the Cultural Center

This evening, the State Capital Wiesbaden is set to host a special performance of piano pieces from the Impressionism and Romantic periods. The program, issued by the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden, is a tribute to Maurice Ravel, celebrating his 150th birthday this year.

The centerpiece of the evening is Maurice Ravel's "Miroirs", a major work of French Impressionism. The student performing this piece is Huiming Zhang from China, who opened the concert with "Noctuelles" from Ravel's "Miroirs".

The program also offers a glimpse into German Romanticism, with works by Robert Schumann. The Kinderszenen op. 15 and the Abegg Variations op. 1 are included in the performance. These pieces serve as a bridge connecting the Impressionism of Ravel to the Romanticism of Schumann.

In addition to the works of Ravel and Schumann, the program features Preludes by Claude Debussy, piano works by Frédéric Chopin, and other pieces from the Romantic period.

Prof. Meining is directing students and pupils in this musical journey through time. The performance is being held in Wiesbaden, with the press office's website providing more details at www.wiesbaden.de/pressereferat. The Press Office's address is Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden.

Citizens can contact the responsible department or office for questions regarding the performance. For those unable to attend, this promises to be a performance not to be missed, blending the beauty of Impressionism with the passion of Romanticism in a unique and captivating performance.
