Young Researchers to Showcase Innovative Plastics Research at Science Slam during K 2025
The Science Slam, a captivating event aimed at showcasing the diversity of research in the plastics industry, will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, during the special exhibition "Plastics Shape the Future" at K 2025. This exciting event will feature four young researchers, each presenting their groundbreaking work in ten minutes.
Organised by Simon McGowan from the University of Hannover, in collaboration with moderator Julien Bobineau from D2 - Think Tank Diversity, and Plastics Europe Germany, the Science Slam is part of the "Career Sunday" event, one of seven themed days of the special exhibition.
The participating researchers hail from various research teams and institutions. Inga Julia Beccard from Cologne, Maximilian Kraft from Heidelberg, and Lisa Herrmann from Tübingen were scouted during the Scientific Workdays of the DGAI and will present their projects at the event in Kassel. They will be joined by Kevin Ullman from the University of Hannover and IfBB, Marcel Gausmann from Aachen Process Engineering, Lukas Fehring from the Leibniz University Hannover's Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and Helen Haug from Fraunhofer CCPE.
The Science Slam aims to give young talents a platform and spark curiosity, offering an insight into the innovative plastic solutions that will shape the future. The event is held on the weekend, a traditionally family day at the K, attracting many young people and students from the region.
The special exhibition "Plastics Shape the Future" at K 2025 offers a diverse program over seven themed days, focusing on current challenges and future prospects of the plastics industry.
