Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition: A New Electric Powerhouse on the Horizon

The electric vehicle landscape is about to get a fresh addition with the upcoming Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition. Scheduled to launch later this year, this new model promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience with its impressive specifications.

According to automotive journalist Baldauf, the Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition will boast a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). It is expected to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in a swift 3.2 seconds, thanks to its upgraded dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 872 hp (650 kW / 884 PS) and 749 lb-ft (1,015 Nm) of torque.

The range of this high-performance electric vehicle is estimated to be an impressive 351 miles (565 km). To ensure a quick recharge, the Performance Launch Edition will feature a 350 kW DC fast charging capability.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition offers a host of premium features. It will come equipped with a 9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 9.3-inch heads-up display. The vehicle will also feature adaptive pixel LED headlights, frameless windows, and rain-sensing wipers.

For audiophiles, the Performance Launch Edition will include a Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system. Passengers can enjoy heated front seats wrapped in bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery. The vehicle will also offer a four-zone climate control system to ensure a comfortable ride for all occupants.

The Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition will roll on either larger 21-inch wheels or standard 20-inch wheels, depending on the configuration. Digital side mirrors and soft-close doors are also standard features.

In terms of pricing, the Polestar 5 Performance Launch Edition is expected to cost roughly £104,835 ($140,938) in the United Kingdom. There will be two Launch Editions available, with the Long Range Dual-Motor Launch Edition priced at approximately £90,000 ($120,995) in the UK.
