The vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot in Gütersloh around 15:00 hours. At 20:35 hours, the police in Gütersloh notified their counterparts in Bielefeld about the stolen car heading towards the city.

The Hyundai IONIQ was located in Dornberg during a search and was later found in a construction area on Schillerstraße, near Bernhard-Mosberg-Straße, around 21:10 hours.

During the check, the police secured an EC card, cash, and a baton from the vehicle. There is suspicion that the 50-year-old driver was under the influence of drugs, so a blood sample was taken.
