The city of Washington, D.C. has implemented new juvenile curfew zones in response to public safety concerns. These zones, authorised under the Juvenile Curfew Emergency Amendment Act of 2025, are now in effect in the Navy Yard area and along the U Street Corridor.

The curfew zones are designed to restrict the movement of individuals aged 17 and under. According to the Act, these young people are prohibited from gathering in groups of nine or more in public spaces or businesses within the designated zones.

The curfew in the Navy Yard area will be in effect from August 21 to August 24, with the boundaries of the zone defined as follows: [Insert boundaries details here]. The curfew will be in force from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.

Another curfew zone along the U Street Corridor was enacted by the mayor on August 21, 20XX. The citywide juvenile curfew, which requires those under 18 to be off the streets between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., remains unchanged.

It is important to note that violation of the curfew rules can result in arrest. The police chief has the authority to designate areas for targeted curfews in response to public safety concerns under the Act.
