Police from the Federal government, BPOL NRW, achieved a breakthrough on Tuesday, making three arrests at Düsseldorf airport.
In a series of arrests at Düsseldorf Airport, German authorities have apprehended two individuals wanted for various offenses.
On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, a 43-year-old German man from the district of Osnabrück was controlled at the airport upon his entry from Pristina, Kosovo. This man, who has a prior conviction for fraud, was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Brunswick since May 2025 for fraud in two cases. Remarkably, he was able to pay a fine of 50 euros on the spot and thus avoid a custodial sentence of one day, thanks to a family member's assistance.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old German woman from Lübeck was controlled at the same airport on an entry from Djerba, Tunisia. The woman, who was convicted for forgery of evidence in May 2023, had been wanted due to her non-appearance at the main trial. An arrest warrant had been issued against her by the district court in Lübeck since August of this year. The woman was handed over to the judicial authorities by the Federal Police following her arrest.
The arrests were made during border police entry controls. It is noteworthy that a 27-year-old Syrian was also arrested at the same airport on the same day. The search results do not provide information about which authority oversees the compliance department of the Federal Police in Saint Augustine.
In January 2024, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck also issued an enforcement order for asset seizure of around 800 euros against the woman. The man, on the other hand, was convicted and sentenced to a fine of 330 euros and a suspended sentence of eleven days in December 2024.
These arrests serve as a reminder of the diligence and efforts of the German authorities in maintaining law and order, especially at international border points.
