Police High School: Training Services Welcomes New Students to Hagen (Vocational School for Police)
New Academic Year Begins at South Westphalia University and Police Fachoberschule
The new academic year has commenced at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in Hagen and the Police Upper Secondary School (Fachoberschule Polizei, or FOS). This year, the Police Hagen is welcoming 58 students to its FOS program.
The FOS program, now in its fourth year, offers a new pathway into the police force for students with an intermediate school leaving certificate. The State Police of North Rhine-Westphalia (Polizei NRW) is responsible for the training of these students, with the program coordinated by police training authorities across multiple vocational school locations within NRW.
The Police Hagen collaborates with vocational schools in Bochum and Halver, as well as police authorities in Bochum, MΓ€rkischer Kreis, Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, Olpe, and Siegen. A total of 3645 people applied for the FOS class of 2025, with 551 young people being successful in their applications and beginning their studies at one of the 19 vocational schools.
The welcome event for the FOS program was hosted by the Police Hagen. Among the students, some are continuing their education after completing the 10th grade, while others are returning after years of professional experience. A total of 19 female and 39 male students were officially welcomed, with ages ranging from 14 to 30.
Upon graduation, students will have full university entrance qualification and a guaranteed place at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration NRW. The Police Hagen wishes all "FOS'lers" success in their team 110.
