Police in Kamchatka region apprehended a motorist under the influence of alcohol
In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a traffic accident occurred on Prospecta Cyolkovskogo on March 4, at 19:35. The incident involved a "Nissan Ad" and a "Nissan Bluebird," according to reports by Kamchatka-Info and PΓ©tropavlovsk-Kamchatsky News.
The driver of the "Nissan Ad" was detained by traffic police officers. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver had lost control, causing the accident. The driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication, and an on-site check revealed nearly seven times the permissible alcohol level in the detained driver's blood.
The detained driver agreed to the on-site check but disagreed with the results and was subsequently sent to the regional narcological dispensary for further evaluation. The driver's condition was preliminarily confirmed at the dispensary.
The driver had previously been deprived of his driver's license for driving under the influence, and the new offense for driving on the wrong side of the road was also reported by the news sources. The fine for this offense could be 7,500 rubles.
The possibility of initiating a criminal case for repeated driving under the influence is being considered. The suspension period for the driver's license may be extended due to the offense. However, I have no information about the name of the driver involved in the specific traffic accident in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on March 4.
It is worth noting that no injuries were reported in the accident. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
Stay safe on the roads, Kamchatka!
