Police in North Rhine-Westphalia (BPOL NRW) have apprehended an individual found to be in possession of a fraudulent driver's license and without valid identity papers. The Aachen court will determine the bail conditions for this case.

In a series of events over the past few hours, the Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin has taken action against foreign nationals suspected of traffic and document violations in the region.

On Thursday evening, a 25-year-old Iraqi was arrested by the Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin for suspicion of illegal entry, document forgery, and driving without a license. The individual presented a forged Greek driver's license and had no identification documents. This arrest followed closely after the seizure of two vehicles with French license plates, having the same letter and number sequence, which were stopped on the A4 motorway near Aachen.

The two Portuguese men aged 43 and 50 were stopped on the A44 motorway at the Tunnel rest area. Several violations of traffic regulations, violations of tax regulations, document forgery, driving without a license, and driving without registration were discovered. The Portuguese men were reported for tax evasion, driving without mandatory insurance and registration, document forgery, and license plate misuse.

The authorities responsible for the arrest and investigation are the Public Prosecutor's Office (Staatsanwaltschaft) Aachen. This office conducts investigations and requests actions such as arrests and searches, often carried out by the police or customs authorities acting on its behalf.

A total security deposit of 900,- Euros was taken, with an additional 600,- Euros taken for the impending criminal proceedings. The vehicles were found to be unregistered and uninsured for German traffic, and there was a suspicion of license plate misuse and tax evasion.

The Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin made the announcement via news aktuell. The arrested individual will be presented to the Aachen District Court today to initiate custodial detention for the impending deportation.
