Police in Poland: St. Lorenz Case

In the heart of Lübeck, Germany, a disturbing incident unfolded at the ZOB (central bus station) on the evening of August 30, 2025. A 26-year-old man of Afghan nationality was involved in a physical altercation, assaulting several people and violently resisting police officers during his arrest.

Upon arrival at the ZOB, the man refused to calm down, shouting and seeking confrontation with a 46-year-old man. The situation then moved outside.

The man, who has not been identified further, turned his aggression against the police officers after being separated from his counterpart. He offered resistance, threatened, and insulted the officers during the arrest.

According to reports, he allegedly punched several people, refused to calm down, and actively sought physical confrontation. As a result, one police officer was injured and is currently not fit for duty.

The 46-year-old man sustained visible injuries to his face, allegedly inflicted by the man earlier at the ZOB. The 26-year-old spent the rest of the night in the detention cell, where he reportedly urinated, spat, and kicked the cell door for several hours.

A blood sample was taken from the man due to suspicion of drug use, ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck. Investigations against the man have been initiated on suspicion of bodily harm, insult, threat, and resistance to law enforcement.
