The Gelsenkirchen Police have announced a series of e-bike training sessions for individuals aged 60 and above, as well as an exclusive session for women on November 4, 2025. These training sessions, taking place at the Youth Traffic School, Lohmühlenstraße, Gelsenkirchen-Buer, aim to provide security, routine, and joy in riding e-bikes.

Held from 1 to 4 pm, the training sessions will focus on practical exercises, including safe mounting and braking. Typical everyday problems such as handling during cornering and on loose ground will be addressed. Participants should bring weather-appropriate clothing for the training, as it will take place in light rain.

The training sessions are designed to address the risks associated with e-bikes, particularly in autumn when it gets darker and the streets are slippery. Before the ride, experts will perform a short check-up of the two-wheelers to ensure safety.

The November 4 training session will address specific topics for women with their e-bikes. Participants are encouraged to shape the course content of this session, ensuring it meets their needs and concerns. The shoulder check procedure for turning left will be covered during the training.

Helmets are mandatory for e-bike training participants. Registrations for the e-bike training should be made by email to [email protected]. Please note that there is no guarantee of a place in the training, and registrations will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is at the individual's own risk.
