Police of the federal government confiscate illicit substances valued at 24,000 euros in the town of Kleve, under the jurisdiction of NRW.
On September 4, 2025, a 26-year-old Polish man was checked by the Federal Police at the Nieler StraΓe border crossing in Kleve-Keeken. The man, who was traveling in a car registered in Poland and entering the federal territory from the Netherlands, presented a valid Polish identity card during the inspection.
However, checks in the central driving license register for foreign EU driving licenses revealed that the man did not have a driver's license.
Suspicions of drug trafficking arose when the man was found to have a clip-seal bag with a small amount of marijuana on him when asked about the import of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed five vacuum-sealed bags containing approximately 2.4 kg of marijuana in the trunk.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be 24,000 euros. After the conclusion of the police measures at the station, the Customs Investigation Office Essen took over the further investigations.
The Federal Police Inspectorate, where the man was provisionally arrested and taken for further processing, is located at Emmericher StraΓe 92-94 in Kleve.
