New Students Join Fachoberschule Police in Märkischer Kreis
The Criminal Police Department of Märkischer Kreis has welcomed 14 new students from the Fachoberschule (FOS) Police this year. The FOS Police is offering opportunities to students in multiple police departments, with the students distributed among Bochum, MK, EN, Olpe, and Siegen-Wittgenstein.
The Fachoberschule Police is a unique programme that combines theoretical instruction at vocational colleges such as Halver-Ostendorf with a deep and practical insight into police work at the respective Criminal Police Departments. This dual approach provides students with an excellent foundation for a career in the police force.
In the first year, the practical component is particularly high, with FOS students experiencing the daily routine in various police stations. This hands-on approach ensures that students gain a comprehensive understanding of the workings of the police force. In the second year, the training focuses on schools, with law and civics on the timetable.
Upon completion of their two-year programme, students will earn their Fachabitur, providing them with excellent prospects for a dual police studies programme. With their Fachabitur and after passing a character and medical fitness test, the graduates of the Fachoberschule Police will secure their place of study at the police in the year 2027.
