Political Divide Persists: Lagos APC Disputes Tambuwal's Call for Tinubu's Removal from Office

In a recent development, Aminu Tambuwal, a prominent figure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed scepticism towards the opposition's alleged consensus ahead of the 2027 elections. Tambuwal, a former Sokoto State governor and lawmaker, claimed there is a "national consensus" to stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to power in 2027. However, his statement has been met with criticism from Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC spokesman.

Oladejo described Tambuwal's statement as "another failed attempt to rewrite the obvious truth." He asserted that President Tinubu was elected by Nigerians from every region, faith, and background. Oladejo maintains that Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda is already producing results, including stabilizing the economy, tackling infrastructure deficits, and creating jobs.

In response to Tambuwal's claim, Oladejo stated that what exists is a consensus to support good governance. He further added that while the opposition is playing musical chairs and media politics, the APC is building roads, creating jobs, fixing power, reforming the economy, and laying the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

Tambuwal mockingly stated that the opposition is struggling to build an elusive alliance, sabotaged by their own greed, inflated egos, unbridled desperation for power, and self-righteousness. However, Oladejo rubbished this claim, stating that unlike the noise-makers in the opposition, Tinubu has hit the ground running.

Oladejo also advised Tambuwal to focus on clearing his name before anti-graft agencies. This advice comes amidst recent revelations that have not painted Tambuwal in a flattering light.

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also dismissed Tambuwal's claim, saying it is a laughable alliance driven by greed and desperation. Nigerians, according to Tambuwal, are watching the opposition's actions with popcorn in hand.

As the political landscape continues to evolve in Nigeria, the 2027 elections promise to be a significant event. The opposition's alleged consensus and Tambuwal's criticism of it are just the latest developments in this unfolding narrative.
